This is the reprint of one of the rarest WPA Guides, originally published in 1940. Given that the original edition had beautiful photogravures, this books' illustrations are rather disappointing. The book comes with a slight binding error as not enough glue was used on the endpapers near the hinge. Unlike the title-page the front cover shows "The American Negro, His History and Literature" which presumably is the the series title. (The spine lettering on the other hand indicates the correct title). ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 418 pages, Very Good+ Click here for full details of this book, to ask a question or to buy it on-line.
